Air India - Why People Love to Hate it?
Well, this is blog posting comes after quite some time. actually, i had been quite busy as i had to come down to Macau for my Company's Annual Sales Conference.
Macau is a nice place to relax but the direct Air India flight from Delhi to Hong Kong ensures that every thing goes wrong in the first place. As usual the flight (which comes from Mumbai and goes to Seol / Osaka on different days via Hong Kong) is late. The flight is supposed to start at 23:15 but it actually starts at 23:40. No Problems! I do understand that the airport is fully loaded with flights in and out.You would be surprised (infact, shocked) when you enter the plane. It is disorganisation at it's best. No problems, once again (specially when you are the first time air traveller). You are made to sit in a place which is possibly not cleaned and the icing(?) on the cake comes when you find that the seat has been soiled by the previous passenger. What will you do? You will call in the steward, who will come down reluctantly and will promise to do something. Now you are standing and the flight is about to take off, but no worries. the attendants would be busy telling you about the safety preacuations. When you search for the steward whom you have called initially, you will find that he has disappeared to eternity.
Somehow, somebody comes up and allots you a new seat. you sit and are ready to fly. The real adventure starts now. All the passengers (i m not sure about all but i got one) are given a welcome drink (which is a mango drink), of course, it would not be cold, and you thought you wanted to have a chilled one.
After the welcome drink, about half an hour passes and the hostess arrives with drinks on a trolly (NOTE: IT IS AT AIR INDIA'S WISH TO PROVIDE WITH DRINKS - MANY A TIMES YOU DON'T GET ANYTHING TO DRINK ( any body can check the situation of the Air India Passengers flying from Delhi to Hong Kong on 25th Sep, 2006 - they were not given anything to drink)). The hostess will dump to small bottles of the drink so that she doesn't have to come back for another serving. if you ask for another packet of snacks - you are an idiot! the hostess will look back as if she will pull up your ear and would hammer you. You don't mind and try to forget and enjoy your drink.
After another hour (at about 01:45 hrs) you are served with dinner. Just imagine, you are in the skies and having dinner at such an hour >>>>>>>>>>> a life time experience>>>>>>>>>. You shall have a dinner which you have to eat because even if you tell them that you don't want, they shall come back to you again and again and make sure you eat it (great hospitality!). After your dinner, you can have tea or coffee. when you will ask the hostess to serve coffee, she will smell both the pots (how cute?) and then pour the coffee for you.
I am sure that the Air India Hostess are famous worldwide, they are so 'motherly' - infact they look like mothers and behave like the mother who ensures that the baby is tucked in the bed and he should take care of his soo soo and potty on his own. How lovely? if you ask for water they will bring (when they feel like) it and you will feel that they want to throw the same on your face.
My advice: THOU SHOULD FLY AIR INDIA BEFORE TAKING ANOTHER AIRLINE, ONLY THEN, THOU REALISETH THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEL HELL AND HEAVEN".

Lage Raho Munna Bhai!
Amazing......Entertaining..........Enlightening....... I am looking for other adjectives for the brilliant movie, which i watched yesterday nite.
Yesterday evening, i casually asked my wife - Renu, if she was interested in going out for the movie. She not only readily agreed but i found the dinner cooked by the time I reached home from the office. I was not surprised by this, for Renu is a movie buff too and a big Munna Bhai Fan. ( I should admit that I admire Circuit more than Munna Bhai!).
Well, we reached the Cinema Hall in time and got the tickets. It was a large crowd and it seemed that mostly the families were present. I was surprised to see a lot of patrons coming down for a second viewing. Although, i had read some of the raving reviews but i wanted to analyse the movie from my point of view.
The movie started with Circuit's antics and his trademark 'bhaigiri'. I could not have expected more to see Boman Irani as the scheming and very 'practical' sardarji. Sanjay Dutt as Munna Bhai made his impact from scene one. His relentless research on Gandhiji and how he meets the Mahatma tickeled everyone.
Vidya Balan as the RJ was cute and so were her 'children' - the oldies with whom she lives in the movie. I don't want to write a review or a plot spoiler, but i would like to share what impressed me the most and here it goes.........
- The Concept is original, Story is breezy and Screenplay is taut
- Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi excel in everything - the comic timing is great
- The instances of proving Gandhism philosophy are very practical and everybody comes across these in everyday life
- Vidya Balan as RJ is very natural
- New words like 'Gandhigiri' and "Chemical Locha", immediately hang on the viewer
- Only one dialogue (when both Munna and Circuit are going back to their village) has been repeated from the earlier venture otherwise nothing else (of course, the main characters)
- Gandhism is not preachy but explained through a very practical approach
- And finally to quote the director - "You will laugh with moist eyes"
I would definitely like to see the movie again.
Note:
The New Delhi Government has declared it as TAX FREE but the Cinema Hall (Liberty) was not aware of this and I have to buy the ticket in full price but not regrets.
My Little Sweetheart!
It is great joy to watch my sweetie growing day by day! She is such a darling that every one adores her. She is an angel. Can you believe that she is just 4 months old and waits for me to return from the office so that she can talk to me in her ga ga hoo hoo language? It looks as if she is reporting her day's 'hectic' schedule to me.She would, then, want me to play with her and take her to the market or the park. She would like to see all the children - how they run and laugh and then she would be overjoyed if someone comes up to her and talks to her.Believe me, my little one is quite modern and prefers her to be called as "LIPS". Her chweet ishmile takes away all the stress.
